The idea
How To Get Motivation exists because most advice in this area is written to make you feel something rather than to help you do something. It arrives as a quote over a sunrise, it lands well for about an hour, and it leaves nothing behind.
The premise here is the opposite one: motivation is unreliable by nature, and the useful work is building things that don’t depend on it. Routines that survive a bad week. Standards you set while calm. Commitments small enough that keeping them is realistic and frequent enough that they add up.
Why the site splits men and women
The underlying principles don’t change by gender. Sleep matters for everyone. Floors beat targets for everyone. What differs is the starting problem people arrive with, and the specific advice each group has been given for years.
Splitting the paths means we can be specific instead of writing for a generic reader who doesn’t exist. You’re welcome to read both — there’s nothing hidden on either side.
How recommendations get chosen
Some articles recommend a paid course or product, and those are affiliate links. Three rules govern them.
- Every recommendation says who it’s not for. If a product only suits a narrow situation, that gets stated in the same box as the pitch.
- The free advice comes first. No article on this site withholds the useful part to sell you the paid part. If you read an article and buy nothing, you should still leave with something you can act on today.
- Commission rate doesn’t determine placement. Where a well-paying product doesn’t fit the article, it doesn’t go in the article.
What this site is not
It is not medical, psychological or clinical advice. Several topics covered here — motivation, sleep, eating, low mood — sit close to territory where a doctor is the right person to speak to, not a website.
If you have been flat for weeks rather than days, if the difficulty extends across everything rather than one area, or if food or exercise has become a source of real distress, please talk to your GP. That’s not a disclaimer for legal reasons. It’s that the strategies here are designed for ordinary motivation problems, and using them on something else means losing time that would be better spent getting proper help.
